Board of Health Minutes 3/5/12
MONTEREY BOARD OF HEALTH MEETING MINUTES

Date:  March 5, 2012
Present:  Peter Kolodziej, Stephen Enoch, Robert Annelli and John Makuc

The meeting began at 3:30pm

1.  Peter and Bob reviewed the plans submitted by Gould Farm for changes they are looking to make.  Peter will contact the Engineer regarding more information that is needed.
2.  The Board reviewed the information M. Noe compiled at their request with regards to potential questions for a needs assessment survey/study based on the proposal submitted by Kathie Tryon as well as demographics for Monterey compiled from the street listing information provided by the Town Clerk.  Peter reiterated that right now there is a perceived need that is yet to be determined and this survey will be a big help.  He stated that there are a lot of organizations and such that could assist us in helping us determine how we want to proceed, assist with the assessment and then depending on the results of that how we would want to move forward (working with existing services to expand our current services, create a town nurse position or investigate the free services already available.  Bob wants to know first if other towns are interested in joining Monterey in this endeavor if a need is determined.  John stated that his impression from speaking with Kathie is that she is only interested in implementing this in Monterey and not making it a multi town program.  The Board asked M. Noe to contact Elder Services to find out more information about what they offer as well as Berkshire Health Service and the COA.
Peter is going to contact Donna Salloom of the Department of Public Health for more information on what type of questions will be most helpful in a needs assessment and if there are any funds available for the mailing.  Stephen will contact Kathie to see if she has any suggestions for questions to be in the survey.
